# Manage Running Campaigns: Pause, Edit, Start and Delete

Once a campaign is created, you manage it from **Phishing → Campaigns**. This article explains the campaign statuses, what each action does and how it affects credits and results. To create a campaign, see "Create and Launch a Campaign".

## The campaign list

![Campaign list with name, channel, status, next execution and actions](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/4/3/7/4/437439cedb096800/campaign-list_1c3xmk5.jpg)

The list shows **Name** (with the channel: **Email**, **SMS** or **Quishing**), **Status**, **Next Execution** and **Actions**. Click a column header to sort.

| Status | Meaning |
| ---- | ---- |
| **Active** | The campaign is running or scheduled. |
| **Paused** | The campaign sends nothing. This applies to campaigns that were saved but never started, and to campaigns someone paused. |
| **Finished** | The campaign is complete. One-time campaigns become Finished after their run. A finished campaign cannot be started again. |

## Actions

| Action | Where | Who |
| ---- | ---- | ---- |
| **View** | Campaign list | All members |
| **Edit** | Campaign list or **Edit Campaign** on the detail page | All members |
| **Start Campaign** / **Schedule Campaign** | Editor, while the campaign is paused | All members |
| **Pause** | Campaign list, or **Pause Campaign** in the editor, while the campaign is active | All members |
| **Delete** | Campaign list | Admins only |

### Pause

Click **Pause** and confirm with **Pause Campaign**. Messages that have not been sent yet – including messages waiting in a Sprinkle window – are cancelled, and no further runs are scheduled. Messages that were already delivered stay in the results, and interactions with them are still recorded.

### Start

Open the campaign with **Edit** and click **Start Campaign**. The button is available once all required fields are filled in. To start later, switch on **Schedule campaign** and set **Start campaign at**; the button then reads **Schedule Campaign**.

Each start sends a new run to the whole target list – also to people who already received an earlier run.

### Edit

- **Paused campaigns:** you can change everything except the **Delivery channel** and the **Test Interval**. These two are fixed after creation.
- **Active campaigns:** the content is locked. Only **Skip landing page – send to training on click** and the start time can be changed. To change anything else, pause the campaign, edit it and start it again.
- **Finished campaigns:** only **Skip landing page – send to training on click** can be changed; it applies to future runs.

Changes never affect runs that were already sent. If you change the scenario or sender, regenerate the message before you save.

For Quishing campaigns, the **QR delivery** mode and print locations can only be changed while the campaign is a draft that has never run.

### Delete

Admins can delete a campaign with **Delete** in the list. Deleting is permanent: the campaign and all its run data are removed, and its results no longer appear in your reports. Consider pausing instead if you want to keep the results.

### Duplicate a campaign

The app has no duplicate button. To run a similar campaign, create a new one; with the public API you can clone a campaign as a draft (see "Public API and API Keys").

## Credits

- When a run starts, AutoPhish reserves the credits for all recipients. Only delivered messages are charged; the rest of the reservation is released when the run ends.
- If your credits are not sufficient, nothing is sent and the run shows **Credit limit reached**. A one-time campaign is then Finished – create a new campaign once you have credits again. A recurring campaign keeps its schedule.
- Pausing or deleting releases the credits for messages that were not sent yet. Messages already delivered remain charged.

For costs per channel, see "How Credits Work – Costs, Balance and Buying More".

## Campaign details and runs

Click **View** to open a campaign. **Campaign Details** shows the status, channel, test interval, next execution, Sprinkle, admin approval and creation date.

**Campaign Executions** lists every run with **Date**, **Status**, **Delivery Rate**, **Opens** (not for SMS), **Clicks** (**QR Scans** for Quishing) and **Login Attempts**. Per run you can open:

- **Targets** – the send status per recipient
- **Email Preview** / **SMS Preview** – the message that was actually sent in this run
- **View Details** – the run's summary and the interactions of every recipient, with search and filters. With a filter set, **Create target list** turns the result into a new list, for example for a follow-up campaign.
- **Retry with new payload** – only when a run failed because the mail server rejected it as spam. AutoPhish sends a new version to the recipients who were not reached.

Run statuses: **Queued**, **In Progress**, **Sending completed**, **Completed with errors**, **Failed** and **Canceled**. A run with Sprinkle stays **In Progress** until its Sprinkle window ends.

## Recurring campaigns

- The next run is scheduled when the previous run ends, one interval later (for Sprinkle campaigns: after the Sprinkle window).
- With **Require admin approval before each run**, all company admins receive a preview e-mail before each run. A run is only sent once an admin approves it; the link is valid for 48 hours. If an admin rejects the run, nothing is sent and the next run is scheduled one interval later.
- To skip runs, pause the campaign and start it again later. To end a recurring campaign, pause it.

AutoPhish does not send e-mails when a run starts or ends. Check the campaign page or **Phishing → Reports** for results.
