Getting Started: How to set up AutoPhish for your Company

After you have created an AutoPhish user account, the dashboard guides you through a series of onboarding steps. This tutorial shows how to complete the first two steps --- Set Up Your Company and Verify Your Domain --- and explains what happens if you use a public email provider such as Gmail.

Log in and open the company setup wizard

  1. Visit https://autophish.io/login and sign in with your AutoPhish credentials. After a successful login you will land on the Dashboard where a checklist highlights the onboarding steps. At this point, usually only step 1 is active.

  1. Click Go to Company Setup. AutoPhish will open a form where you can enter your organisation's details.

Enter company details and complete setup

On the Company Setup page you need to provide basic information about your organisation:

  • Company name and address -- Use your organisation's legal name and physical address.

  • Company website and CEO name -- These help AutoPhish personalise phishing simulations.

  • Email address for domain verification -- This must be an email address on your company's own domain (e.g. admin@yourcompany.com). AutoPhish will send a verification link to this address. Public providers such as gmail.com, yahoo.com and outlook.com cannot be verified; if you use one of these domains the setup will display an error and you will need to provide a company address instead.

  • Company logo -- Uploading a logo (JPG, PNG, GIF or WEBP, max 3 MB) customises your phishing templates.

  • Main, accent and background colours -- These control the colour scheme used in AutoPhish emails.

  • Anonymous mode -- When enabled, AutoPhish hides individual email addresses in reports and only shows aggregate statistics. Note that this setting can not be turned off by yourself, only by our support staff!

When you are satisfied with the details, click Complete Setup. AutoPhish will create your company record and analyse your website to generate phishing templates. When the process finishes the dashboard will mark the first step as complete.

Verify your sending domain

After creating your company, the dashboard might highlight Verify Your Domain as the next step, in case that your domain could not be automatically verified. AutoPhish automatically sends a double‑opt‑in email to the address you entered in the company setup form:

  1. Check the inbox of the verification address (or ask the appropriate colleague) and look for a message from AutoPhish. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder.

  1. Open the message and click the verification link. This confirms that you own the domain and allows AutoPhish to use it as a sender domain for phishing simulations. Once confirmed, the dashboard will show that the domain is verified and you can proceed to the next step.

Troubleshooting domain verification

  • Using public email providers: AutoPhish does not allow domains from large providers (e.g. gmail.com) to be verified. If you supplied a public address during company setup you will see an error and you will not be able to complete the setup. To proceed you must update the Email address for domain verification to an address hosted on your organisation's own domain and repeat the setup.

  • Skip step when already verified: If you created your account using a company email and confirmed the double‑opt‑in link during registration, AutoPhish will automatically verify the domain and mark step 2 as complete. No further action is needed.

  • No access to the verification email: If you cannot access the verification inbox, contact your IT administrator or AutoPhish support. They can resend the verification email or assist with domain configuration.

Next steps

With your company created and domain verified, you can continue the onboarding process:

  1. Select a subscription plan -- choose a plan that matches the number of employees you want to train. This unlocks the ability to run campaigns.

  1. Create and launch your first campaign -- follow AutoPhish's campaign creation wizard to configure your first phishing test. A step‑by‑step guide is available in AutoPhish's help centre: https://help.autophish.io/en/article/create-and-launch-a-campaign-sxldrk/.

Completing these steps ensures that AutoPhish can send realistic phishing simulations to your company.
